We were recently commissioned by Stroud Town Council to produce a new ‘Walk Around Stroud’ (or ‘WAS Way’) map. We walked the route, took photographs and checked the written instructions. We then created the cartography, made a route profile, and designed the leaflet.
At a scale of 1:13,500 the A3-sized map shows all road names, all other public rights of way and some useful landmarks and nearby facilities. Ten-metre contour lines and subtle hill-shading gives the user an indication of the hilly nature of the walk, and picks out Stroud’s famous Five Valleys.
