We took a graphic approach to this map, simplifying the road network and background detail. This provides the user with geographic context for this large area and presents the complex bus route information clearly, enabling people to choose the best option for their journey. The map shows routes for four bus companies, colour-coded for easy identification. Route numbers are similarly coloured and are shown along the route alignment. Insets of Poole and Bournemouth provide further detail of routes and stopping points. Major destinations and attractions are also highlighted.

The colour-coding extends into the design on the reverse, which includes tables of all destinations, stopping points and bus frequency. Overall, through the use of colour and graphic styling, the large amount of detailed information involved in this brief is presented in a clear, attractive and user-friendly way. This map is now in its fourth reprint, which demonstrates its success, with both the public and the client.
